Vista, CA–San Diego is quickly becoming the beer micro-brewery capital of our country and the Iron Fist Brewing Company in Vista holds the promise of being a double-fisted knock-out success–and a real prize for San Diego.
The Iron Fist brau haus is brand new, sparking clean, boasts state of the art brewing equipment and the keen Belgian brewing sensibilities of a traditional Polish family. Mike and I attended the Iron Fist Brewery’s crowded soft opening Wednesday evening, enjoyed two tasting flights of beer (see below) and snippets of conversation with old friends Greg and Eve Sieminski (also a San Marcos Realtor), Brandon Sieminski (Biermeister) and Adrian Sieminski with wife Kalyn, who both greeted the crowds.
The brewing of each Iron Fist beer is a labor of love, skill and no small amount of creativity. Mike, who loves wine and rarely drinks beer, was smitten with the “Spice of Life” (a Belgian-style spiced ale) and the abbey-style “Dubbel Fisted” brews. I enjoyed them both, but loved the light, thirst-quenching “Hired Hand Saison,” the teensy bubbly effervescence of “Golden Age” and the Kolsch-style “Renegade Blonde.”
