Located in coastal Encinitas and formerly known as Quail Botanical Gardens, the re-named San Diego Botanic Garden draws visitors and supporting members from around the globe.
Named on of the 10 Most Spectacular Gardens in the World, the San Diego Botanic Garden is located in Encinitas off Quail Gardens Drive. Within its 37 acres, the gardens are grouped into 15 different geographic areas ranging from Australia, lush Hawaii, the Mediterranean, Madagascar and other exotic regions.
The San Diego Botanic Garden is a great place to spend a few hours–and perhaps pick up a few ideas for gardens of your own. The focus here is on conservation and sustainability with a dedicated staff that works hard to restore many threatened and endangered plant species including plants ranging from agaves to bamboo.
