Appeal Your San Diego Property Taxes NOW

Share

Carlsbad, CA–Mike and I have been busy helping many San Diego home owners appeal the assessed value of their homes–and in some cases, are helping homeowners save over $200 in property taxes each month. It’s a pretty simple process that you can do yourself.

The cost? Nada!

Want to lower your San Diego property taxes? Start by visiting the San Diego tax assessment appeal site and mailing in the application. But do it quickly, because the deadline for these appeals is December 1, 2010.

If you need any assistance, please feel free to give Mike a call at 760-402-9102 and he’ll guide you through the process.

You’ll also be able to save money by NOT hiring someone (or a firm) to do it for you. Mike, named a Five-Star San Diego Realtor by San Diego Magazine,  will also help provide you with comparable sales that may help lower your assessed value.

  1. I bought a 6-plex in Dec 2010 for $277,000.
it is located in Logan Heights and the City of San Diego is charging over $7k a year in property taxes which is outrageous.
My partners and I (we bought it together) thought eventually the City would reassessed (which happened in other properties we bought with the purpose of flipping) but it did not happen this way.
We filed an appeal this month but I just wanted to know if there was anything else we could do about it.

    Thank you

    1. Claudia: You absolutely should appeal your property taxes–and based on Prop 13, should not be paying on a value much over $277,000. Mike Murphy has guided many of our San Diego real estate clients in getting their properties reassessed. Please free to give him a call at 760-402-9102 and he’ll give you some free advice.
