It’s a word that comes up often around Roberta Murphy.

A humorous and passionate woman, Roberta Murphy has built her career on providing trustworthy tidbits of information. As a journalist, college professor, and owner of San Diego Previews Real Estate, Roberta knows the value of good information. Her pursuit of it has made her a top real estate sleuth in the San Diego area.

Buying or selling a home is often a major component of life’s key transitions, and Roberta knows how to make those transitions as smooth as possible. She has been in real estate “since the last millennium,” she says with a grin. And her 25-plus years of experience have yielded lifelong clients and a an award of as one of the Top 10 Real Estate Brokerages in San Diego for 2010 (by the San Diego Union Tribune).

But awards aren’t why Roberta enjoys the real estate business. It’s connecting with buyers and sellers in balmy San Diego and successfully guiding them through searches, marketing, negotiations, and closings. She gets a charge out of helping her clients find the best path through life’s transitions, and she always acts in their best interests—even if that means advising not to buy or sell a property. Of course, a quick sense of humor doesn’t hurt in any situation. Roberta keeps even the stickiest negotiations amicable.

This creative and energetic woman doesn’t slow down much on her off time. Roberta is addicted to disruptive technologies and ideas that shake up the way we think. Photography, travel, gardening, and cooking keep her quite busy, too—as do the wonderful farmers markets around San Diego. You may run into Roberta anywhere, anytime—out and around Carlsbad and Encinitas– or deep in the countryside exploring the arcane.

On the home front, Roberta is surrounded by living creatures great and small. She has three sons: Scott, a super-star at San Diego Previews,  Eric, who works with Taylor Made Golf ; and Mark, aUS Army veteran who is a full time student pursuing a degree in computer engineering. The family is rounded out by 2 Chihuahuas and a mixed rescue, 9 tomato plants, lots of wild birds and Monarch Buterflies.
